RBI’s Depositor Education Workshops: – July - August
MFIN has been appointed by the Depositor Education and Awareness (DEA) Fund Cell of RBI to conduct 2,250 depositor education workshops across India.
The project is being conducted in three phases (i) Pilot, (ii)Training of Trainers(ToTs)and(iii)Delivery of workshops in selected districts by various partner MFIs, NBFCs, BC’s of MFIN. The first (pilot) phase of the project has been completed in which workshops were conducted across three locations (one each in rural, semi-urban and urban) in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
The second phase has MFIN to conduct eight TOTs (2 in each region) to train a cadre of around 240 trainers who in turn were responsible to not only lead the delivery of workshops in the third phase but also to train others in their respective organizations. 8 TOT’s were organised in Patna, Mumbai, Chennai, Bhubaneshwar, New Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata & Ranchi.
MFIN currently is preparing the TOT report for RBI after which a go-ahead will be provided for organizing the DEA workshops in the 3rd (execution) phase of this project
